Kris and Mary Ann serve TRPC as the Directors of Youth Ministry. Mary Ann, originally from Florida, and Kris, an Upstate native, met at Montreat Youth Conference while in college, and were married in the spring of 2001. The couple moved to the Greenville area in the fall of 2006, started attending church at Tyger River soon thereafter.
In the fall of 2008, the two started volunteering their time to re-start the youth program at the church, and in early 2009 accepted the role as Directors of the program on a permanent basis.Kris and Mary Ann’s desire to be involved with the youth of TRPC grows out of their own experiences in their respective youth groups during their high school years.
Mary Ann remembers the impact her youth leaders had on her, and how they were a positive influence and guiding force in her life. Kris’s memories revolve around how youth group really was a nurturing and fun place for him to grow in his faith.
They both believe that Christian youth should have a place to go where people accept them as you are and support each other in being a Christian.
These are some of the reasons they felt so called to participate in TRPC’s youth ministry. They look forward to continuing to grow and develop the church’s youth into young adults who are ready to go out into the world with a solid Christian faith that can sustain them for a lifetime.
