Jason L. Yon is a native of Tampa, FL, but has found a home in South Carolina. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the University of South Florida and a Masters Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Tennessee. Apart from The Tyger, Jason teaches chorus at Beck Academy in Greenville, SC and he and his wife Marcie own and operate Yon’s Greenpond Nursery, a local plant wholesale grower.

Jason’s philosophy of the music at Tyger River is that all music can, and should, lead in the meaningful worship of God. This point of view allows for all types of music, including that of a secular nature.

Marcie N. Yon, Jason’s wife, holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Winthrop University and a Masters Degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Tennessee. She is a native of South Carolina and leads music in the Java With Jesus worship service. She is assisted by Jason on guitar, Mark Johnsen on electric bass, Ed Byrd on drums and various other members on vocals.

Jason and Marcie have three beautiful children, Edy, Abi and Joshua, and live in the Greenpond area of Woodruff, SC.
