My name is David Green, your director of congregational care.   My family and I first attended Tyger River in late 2001.   I have been involved in several ministry areas and am a member of the session class of 2008.   In 2009 I was privileged to participate in the transition team and learn about ways that churches can grow and faithfully seek and follow God’s calling.   Excellence in congregational care is one of the important factors that enable a church to move to a program model.  Again and again, I have seen that it is in our nature at Tyger River to care for each other with compassion, grace, and Christian love.

We get so much joy from praying together and taking care of each other.  My hope for us is that we can embrace this part of our nature, make a habit of it, and claim our role in congregational care as a responsibility we share with our pastor.  My focus is to help us use our shepherding program and our small groups to keep congregational care a central part of our identity as a church, so that members and seekers alike will see the image of God, our true shepherd, in themselves and in each other.

Indeed, in a place of grace, we are all givers and receivers of this spiritual gift.   I am grateful for this opportunity and would welcome the chance to talk with you about this ministry.  You are part of God’s amazing story at Tyger River!
