Building and Grounds Team Responsibilities
- The Building and Grounds Team shall maintain and protect the property of Tyger River Presbyterian Church, ensuring that it is kept in good repair at all times by:
- Maintaining the grounds. Mulch beds, trimming bushes, removing dead trees, leaves and debris, and scheduling workdays as needed.
- Providing regular maintenance as required for the exterior and interior of the building. For example, replacing air filters in HVAC units, replacing burned out lamps, cleaning gutters, touching up wall paint, etc.
- Making sure we comply with all building codes and any inspection requirements.
- Contracting with outside firms for annual maintenance and construction needs that may be necessary.
- Setting up and cleaning up our church facility during church wide Christian Education and fellowship events.
- Providing and monitoring an annual spending plan for our church facility to the Session for anticipated expenses for the coming year.
- Meeting as needed to discuss and act on concerns and issues, and recommend action to the Session.
Goals for 2011:
- Continue the volunteer workdays and support the new Family Work Area initiative.
- Lead and support the ad hoc Security group in the Safe Place Mission.
- Creation and posting of a building plan and room signs to better welcome visitors.
- Coordinate installation of the new organ.
